Recently joining the Golfy Network, Golf de Hombourg is embarking on a new chapter under the leadership of its director, Pascal Arrighi. With its golf courses and many exciting projects in the pipeline, the club is set to become a leading golf destination.

Nestled in the heart of the Hardt Forest, around twenty minutes from both Mulhouse and Basel, Golf de Hombourg is centred around a 17th-century château, which has become its true symbol.
Having taken over as director in July 2026, Pascal Arrighi was quick to recognise the potential of the site. “What attracted me here is the complete lack of overlooking: no hotel, no road, no high-voltage power line running across the course, as is often the case elsewhere,” he explains.
The building is more than just a backdrop. As the starting point for a long-term project, the château is gradually set to become the heart of the estate. “The plan is to open the château for dining and guest reception from March 2027,” explains the director. Looking further ahead, the ambition is even greater: within five years, part of the building could house a seminar room, before eventually introducing accommodation.
Conceived as the heart of the estate, the château also opens up new possibilities for rethinking the layout of the two existing 18-hole courses. With two front nines and two back nines that each return to the clubhouse, the courses could eventually be redesigned into four nine-hole loops, offering members and visitors a variety of possible combinations.
Another strength is that the two courses each have their own distinct character. The Château Course, the longer of the two, opens with six holes across a wide, open plain before moving into a completely different forest setting, where the greens and numerous elevation changes call for strategic play. The Village Course is shorter and narrower, with several water hazards that are absent from the other layout.
Another striking feature is the presence of double greens, adding an Anglo-Saxon touch to this Alsatian estate. It is, in fact, the second course that the director prefers. “What makes me find it more beautiful is really the atmosphere it creates,” he says, while acknowledging that the two layouts complement each other perfectly.
Closed since November 2025, Golf de Hombourg has resumed operations with the reopening of the Château Course. The Village Course is currently undergoing a restoration programme, with the aim of reopening its greens in 2028.
Although he has not yet had time to play a round on his own course, the director gets to explore it every day through his role and his hands-on work on the grounds. “Every day, when I water the course, I come across roe deer,” he says, adding with a laugh that he now needs to think about checking the estate’s fences, surrounded as it is by cornfields. This close connection with wildlife perfectly reflects the spirit of the place: a course set in a natural environment, far from any urban disturbance, where even new members are surprised by the peaceful atmosphere.
The location of Golf du Château de Hombourg is no coincidence. At the crossroads of France, Germany and Switzerland, the estate benefits from being close to Mulhouse and its Cité de l’Automobile, as well as Basel just a short distance away. The perfect setting for turning a stay here into a cross-border getaway, combining rounds of golf, culinary discoveries and excursions into the vineyards along the Alsace Wine Route.
