La Savonnerie de la Chapelle
DESCRIPTION
La Savonnerie de la Chapelle is a family business of craftsmen, specialised in the production of natural cosmetic products and expert in the manufacture of cold process soaps. It has taken over, modernised and exploited an ancestral know-how in the conception of handcrafted products of impeccable quality: cold process soaps, precious oils, balms, shampoos, etc...
La Savonnerie is located in the centre of the village of Bellême, in the Orne region of Normandy, a medieval town of character.
The workshop and the shop are located along the remains of the castle walls, still visible today.
In the shop you will have a view of the entire workshop. From this area, you can watch the different stages of production and ask the teams about the manufacturing process.
The Savonnerie de la Chapelle also offers you the opportunity to make your own natural organic cold process soap!
Every Saturday from 2pm onwards, with a maximum of four people taking part, in order to facilitate interaction between the apprentice soap makers and Patrick, the master of ceremonies.
At the end of this 2-hour workshop, each participant will leave with his or her own preparation, i.e. 400 grams of soap in a 'Made in France' mould that can be reused endlessly.
